Back in 2009 a few of us craft beer enthusiasts and history buffs from Cheboygan shared an idea. We dreamed of reestablishing a proud local brewery, one out of production since the wave of prohibition captured northern Michigan like it did the rest of the country. We imagined brewing fabulous beers that respected the heritage of the original recipes and brought time honored brewing techniques and a few brewmaster secrets to the table. We focused on the water. We went after taste.

Modern Craft Winery has perfected a unique wine making process that melds modern day technology with old world techniques. From this special process, we have created wines that are smooth and freshly balanced from first to last sip.

Committed to making quality wines from locally-grown, cold-hardy grapes. We strive to present the Gifts of Nature in a simple and personal manner. As only the second winery of our kind on the eastern side of Michigan's lower peninsula, we seek to encourage others to make wine as well, hoping to lead the way in the formation of an eastern wine community in the state.

Stoney Acres Winery is pleased to bring back for a second year "Think Pink! Wine". Proceeds from the sale of 240 - 750ml bottles of "Think Pink! Wine" will be donated to the 6th Annual "Zonta Walks for Women" Breast Cancer Awareness fundraising event to be used for the Alpena Regional Medical Center's Mammography Subsidy Fund. This fund is for those who are either uninsured or under insured so they can receive this life-saving diagnostic procedure.

Valley Mist Vineyards was established in 2008. 1500 hybrid grapevines were planted on the Moore's Property that overlooks Rose City in Ogemaw County. Varieties include Marquette, Brianna, Swenson Red, Cayuga White, and Frontenac. The winery was built in Spring of 2010, and received licensing in August. We look forward to providing our very own wines soon. The winery will specialize in Estate~Bottled Wines. In addition local fruits and grapes will be used in production.
